The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition Releases September 6

Gameplay trailer reveals new Monolith feature alongside release date and price information

Independent development studio Q-Games today announced that The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition will launch September 6 in Europe and North America / September 7 in Japan on PlayStation 4 with enhancements for PlayStation 5.

The online social action game returns following Q-Games’ acquisition of the IP from Sony Interactive Entertainment and includes a full overhaul, with a host of new features and multiple new ways to play. Today’s gameplay trailer showcases a selection of changes and exciting additions that players can look forward to experiencing when the game launches September 6.

Newly announced features include the ability to play single player offline, a new Comrade AI system that complements collaborative play, new items including the Grappling Hook and EV charging point, new villagers and a never-before-seen headline feature; Monoliths.

Monoliths are structures found within the Void that once triggered, alter the existing state of emerging islands. They can be activated in both single player and multiplayer modes and create new ways to explore through the reveal of hidden areas, secret treasures and branching paths.

Dylan Cuthbert, Game Director and Founder of Q-Games said:

“It gives me great pleasure to confirm that The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition will launch this September, exactly 6 years to the day from the game’s original release. We’ve poured so much into the revival and it’s a joy to know that in two months time we’ll be able to explore the Void together as a community once again.

It was important for us to develop an optimum experience for both new and returning players, and the addition of Monoliths really takes island exploration up a notch for everyone. They allowed us to deliver fresh takes on existing islands and will create opportunities for the community to find fun, new ways to explore together. I personally can’t wait to jump online to experience them with you in September!”

The game will retail at $40 / €40 / £35 / ¥4000.
